The Children’s Therapy Team is made up of very experienced Occupational Therapists, dedicated to helping children reach their potential.
The CTT has had many years working with children and parents. We have worked alongside many other professionals linked to children’s work, such as Educational Psychologists, Social Workers, Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, School Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paediatricians, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team, Voluntary services.
The CTT are all members of the British Association Of Occupational Therapists. We are registered with the Health Professions Council and the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Independent Practice.
Kaye was born in Melbourne, Australia, graduating from Lincoln Institute in Melbourne with a BAppSc-OT in 1977. In Australia, Kaye worked in a special school for children with a physical handicap, a state-wide toy library and then in an acute hospital covering outpatient children’s services as well as adult orthopaedics/neurology/rehabilitation. In 1980, Kaye left Australia to travel in the UK, Scandinavia and Europe, finally settling in Britain. Her work within the UK has been varied- adult neurology, orthopedics, medicine, rehabilitation, day centre care for the elderly and community adult mental health. Since 1992 Kaye has specialized in paediatrics working with pre-school children, children in special school (physical handicap) and children in mainstream school. Over the last 10 years, Kaye has been responsible for managing and developing a Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service for the NHS, as well as maintaining a clinical case load.
Vicki was born in Cheshire and was educated at Mount Carmel school for girls in Alderley Edge. After studying Occupational Therapy at the London School of Occupational Therapy and Hoger Institute for Paramedic Studies in Belgium, Vicki qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1991. Vicki spent 12 months working with children in Holland before moving on to the USA where she gained her degree in Occupational Therapy. Vicki continued to work with children in Florida and California, before her return to the UK in 1999. By joining the NHS paediatric Occupational Therapy team in Macclesfield, Vicki has continued her work with children, where she remains part time as a highly specialised clinical practitioner.
