Children with health difficulties:

The CTT is experienced and very skilled in assessing these conditions, and will offer treatment/advice as appropriate.

It is not uncommon for several diagnoses to share similar difficulties, such as handwriting, self care and reading issues. For example, a child with a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome may share some characteristics of a child who has Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, highlighting problems such as handwriting, self care or sensory immaturity.

Some children have quite significant health issues to overcome, and may need extra support in school. At times, schools may benefit from direct contact and advice from a health professional, in order to optimise the child’s success within the class. There are many health conditions which can effect a child, such as hemiplegia, cerebral palsy, various syndromes, recovering from surgery, cardiac and orthopaedic conditions.
